April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star American she is part of the elite group of women who have been awarded medals at multiple Olympics. Alix Kallineman will play alongside April Ross in Tokyo in order to claim her third gold medal in the coming days. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic gold medal. And at the age of 39 this may be her last opportunity to accomplish this. However, she remains optimistic that the top honours will be just a few steps away. Ross told NBC Boston that he believes when they perform at their very highest, or play a great game, they'll win the gold. In addition, I'm planning to play a bit of chance. Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and sister. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of activities while at Newport Harbor High School. She competed in basketball and the track as well as her volleyball skills in the indoors in her time as a college athlete. She was definitely the top player in indoor volleyball. Through her high school years, she was a middle blocker outside hitter and setter on the volleyball court according to her university bio. Her achievements were acknowledged with her being selected as 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Players of the Year. Her skills in volleyball earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Awards in 2000. Although Ross and Klineman are in the spotlight in 2017 and beyond, Klineman was already a big-time star on the beach prior to their team. She has won major events with different teams. The other has become an icon of the world of volleyball. From 2007 to 2013, she was teaming by Jennifer Kessy, who is currently her coach. Together together with Kessy Ross, the duo won a World Title in 2009 when she competed on the international circuit. They were awarded a silver medal from the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor clinched gold winning over them. In the end, fate had it that way. Ross got Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. The team won bronze at the beach volleyball competition in the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross was a college player for USC Trojans before starting her professional career. She played during high school, as well as in the years before playing on the beach as a professional. And her run through the institution was an impressive one. In 2000 she was recognized as Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman Of The Year, and was also an All-American. In addition, she helped her Trojans in reaching the Final Four. During her sophomore season, she was devastated by a personal tragedy, yet managed to be a second All-American. In her two final years with the Trojans they helped succeed in winning consecutive championships. As an individual, she established herself as an all-time legend winning this year's Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female collegiate volleyball player. Ross was a international relations major at USC. However, Ross mother Margie never got to see Ross rise to the highest levels in beach volleyball's acclaim. In 2001 when Ross was in her sophomore year at USC her mother died of cancer of the breast. Yet, she is able to keep her mother's memory close and dear. Also, Margie has always been an inspiration to her on the beach as well as in everyday life.
